The soaring success of Bohemian Rhapsody – the Freddie Mercury/Queen movie which now stands as the highest grossing music biopic of all time – has proven that the public’s love for Queen remains as strong as ever. In particular, Bohemian Rhapsody attracted an audience of 9.94 million in S. Korea, becoming the most popular music film ever in Korea and given a phenomenal boost to Queen’s music on streaming services. Long-time fans and recent converts will be thrilled to discover then, that Queen – original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor, teaming up once more with longtime front man Adam Lambert on lead vocals – will come to Korea next year, to play .

The band’s brand new larger-than-life Rhapsody tour which will first debut with 25 sold-out shows across North America this summer will arrive in S. Korea in 2020 with two concerts on 18th & 19th January billed as to take place at Seoul’s Gocheok Skydome.

Completing the tour line-up are long-term collaborator Spike Edney on keyboards, Neil Fairclough on bass, and Tyler Warren on percussion.

Never known to rest on their laurels, Queen’s Rhapsody tour will unveil a stage show as experimental and rule-defying as the hit-packed Queen back catalogue. The band have worked with the creative partners behind the eye-popping News Of The World 2017 tour – Ric Lipson, Rob Sinclair– to develop an unmissable show. .

Then along came 20th Century Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody in October, 2018. The movie has topped the cinema box office in more than 35 countries around the world since its late October release, drawing worldwide box office receipts in excess of $900 million. “Bohemian Rhapsody” won four Oscar awards including best actor as well as the best actor and best film awards at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles. .

In Korea, the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody screened for 140 days, attracting 9.94 million audience, recording number one as the best music related film, breaking a 6 year record. The movie now is the 6th most popular foreign film in South Korean history and created a new culture of audience singing along in movie theaters. With the request from the public, some of the theaters opened the movie as “Sing-Along” showings. The tickets were sold-out as soon as they were opened. The atmosphere at these sing-along showings was that of live rock concert.

With the legendary band's explosive performances and years-long masterpieces, the upcoming performance in Korea will be the first must-see-event of 2020 for rock fans. They proved their stature as the 25th artist of Hyundai Card's cultural marketing brand “Hyundai Card SUPER CONCERT”, which has been supporting the world's best artists’ performances in Korea. .
