It's No Wonder Canada's 'Girl Wonder' Alyssa Rubino is Breaking Sound Barriers on Billboard's Breakout Charts

Toronto's Tween Sensation Graces Cover of Billboard Magazine's Current Issue and Gets Tough About Putting a Stop to Bullying in Schools

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19, 2011  -- At 12 years old, Alyssa Rubino is one of the youngest Canadian singers to warrant cover girl status for one of the oldest music industry trades, Billboard Magazine. This week's issue unveils the "Girl Wonder" as the brightest new star in Billboard's Dance Club galaxy with a worldwide digital release of her first single "Keep On Dancing", debuting February 1 on Amazon and iTunes, with full-throttle airplay on Top 40 and Rhythmic radio stations.

Pre-teen pop princess Rubino is using her fresh fame for more than just infectious lyrics and intrinsic talent by actively participating in a high school anti-bullying campaign later this month, via an invasion of radio waves and a European promotional tour. It's a cause she positively endorses by lending her voice to help make a difference. Alyssa believes, "Everyone has a personality and people have to appreciate each other for who they are."

The aspiring "international superstar" credits her active and grounded Toronto-based upbringing to her father and producer, Danny Rubino, who supported his daughter's inevitable destiny as a musician through his own background in writing and performing music. He and noted artist Trust Chen Pow united to collaborate and form the production duo One, also responsible for Alyssa's freshman album, Every Girl's World, due to release later this year.

"Keep On Dancing" has been serviced to pop radio, while remixes are going to dance/club outlets. Remixes have been produced by 2011 first-time Grammy nominee Mike Rizzo "Funk Generation," Jamie J. Sanchez and the production teams of Wideboys and CutMore. "Danny and I collaborated very closely in reviewing the album, and we thought that 'Keep On Dancing' was not only a great Top 40 hit, but definitely lent itself to getting dance remixes done," says Rizzo, who oversaw the production of the remixes. "With the interest and demand for younger-demo artists, 'Keep On Dancing' by Alyssa Rubino is another fun, up-tempo song that should be well-received by programmers looking to connect to this audience," says Vince Pellegrino, publisher at Street Information Network, which is providing marketing and promotion support for the single. The track this week is bubbling under Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart and promises to position Rubino as a rising starlet.

Stay tuned for this Rubino as she adds her name to the hot list of mainstream Canadian artists such as Justin Bieber, Drake, Avril Lavigne, Nickelback and Nelly Furtado.
