Taylor Swift Spends Sixth Week Atop Billboard 200

Taylor Swift’s folklore has claimed an incredible sixth week at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

The album has spent the most weeks at No. 1 since Drake’s Views reigned for 13 nonconsecutive weeks between May 21 - October 8, 2016. Swift now ties Whitney Houston for the most cumulative weeks at No. 1 among women in Billboard 200's history.

Houston released four chart-topping albums. The first was her self-titled debut in 1986 which spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This was followed by her 1987 sophomore LP, Whitney, which spent eleven weeks at No. 1, The Bodyguard soundtrack between 1992-1993, which spent 20 weeks at No.1, and 2009's, I Look to You, which spent one week at No. 1.

With a sixth week atop the chart, folklore surpasses Lil Baby’s My Turn for the most weeks at No. 1 in 2020.

folklore also has the most weeks at No. 1 for any non-R&B/hip-hop album, or album by a female, since Adele’s 25 tallied 10 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 between December 12, 2015 - March 12, 2016. The album has the most weeks in a row for either a non-R&B/hip-hop set or an album by a woman since 25 notched its first seven weeks at No. 1 between December 12, 2015 – January 23, 2016.

folklore is the fifth album to log at least six weeks at No. 1, making Swift one of just two acts to have at least five albums each spending six weeks atop the chart. The only other act in history to achieve the feat was The Beatles.

Swift is the only female artist to have seven albums each sell at least 500,000 copies in a single week (Fearless, Speak Now, RED, 1989, reputation, Lover and folklore). She is also the first and only female artist in the 21st century to score five No. 1 studio albums in the UK.
