Julia Michaels Gearing Up for Release of Debut Album

Grammy nominated, multi-platinum selling artist Julia Michaels is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated forthcoming debut studio album following an incredible year.

In 2020, she continued her reign as one of the top songwriters in the industry. She contributed three songs to Selena Gomez’s new album Rare, including “Lose You To Love Me,” “Look At Her Now,” and “Fun.” Additional songwriting credits include Dua Lipa’s “Pretty Please,” Zara Larsson’s “Love Me Land,” The Chicks’ “Julianna Calm Down,” “Tights On My Boat,” “Texas Man” and more.

She also collaborated with singer, songwriter, and musician JP Saxe on the heart wrenching ballad “If The World Was Ending.” Written and released in the Fall of 2019, the song has connected with audiences all over the world during the Global Pandemic.

In addition to receiving her third Grammy nomination for her collaboration with JP Saxe on “If The World Was Ending” for “Song Of The Year,” Michaels earned her second #1 as a songwriter on The Billboard Hot 100 for “Lose You To Love Me” with Gomez.

To date, the enormously talented singer-songwriter has co-written 25 titles that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, 14 of which have hit the top 40, including her debut single “Issues,” and two that have hit #1 (Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” & Selena Gomez’ “Lose You To Love Me”).

On how her new album will differ from her EPs, Michaels previously told Billboard: "I think the biggest difference in this album is that with my EPs prior, it was very much self-reflective. It was talking about my anxiety and my depression and my body issues. All of those things that I sort of think about on a daily basis, which is why it was called Inner Monologue.

"And this [album] is more just about finding love and being in love, and not being bitter about love. And I think, too, for the people that listen to my music, because I have had these feelings before where you think, just because you have these issues - no pun intended - that you're not worthy enough for love. That you're not good enough for love, you don't deserve love. You purposely search out toxic relationships because you think that's what you deserve. And I want my fans to know that you can find love even with all these things that go on in your head and in your mind, and all these things that you feel about your body. When you find it, it's so special, and it's easy, and it doesn't have to be this theatrical, dramatic thing, you know?"

Michaels' full-length debut album has yet to receive a release date, but like all her avid fans, we're eagerly awaiting its announcement.
