Rootsy Troubadour, Michael on Fire, Kicks Off Summer Dates and Recording Schedule
LOS ANGELES, May 3, 2011 -- On the heels of his latest album release, Always Yes (Real Eyes Productions, 2011), multi-faceted troubadour Michael on Fire is commencing a busy summer schedule with a brief California tour that includes a May 28 concert at The Mint in Los Angeles. Other Southern California stops will include: Ventura, Santa Ynez,Cambria, and Pioneertown in Joshua Tree.
Michael on Fire, a California transplant and Detroit native, has spent much of the last four decades on the road, often cycling back to towns across America to perform for his widespread loyal fan base that relates to his soulful expression and personable manner. Known for his uplifting blend of musical styles, his penetrating lyrics and riveting live performances, Michael on Fire is touring in support of his 13th release, Always Yes, which, in No Depression, is described as "an affirmation of melody, poetry, insight, creativity, and conviction." The record has spent the last seven weeks on the national Americana charts.
After the West Coast engagements, the tour will continue with two months of Midwest dates, broken up by a two-week stint inEngland, during which time a new live album – Michael on Fire Live in London will be recorded. The Midwest run concludesJuly 26 with a concert at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In August, the tour will continue through Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma,Texas and Colorado – ending Aug. 20 with a concert in KAFM's Radio Room Theater in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Since its release in March, Always Yes has been added to playlists at radio stations across the country and around the world. Each of the album's 13 tracks is being played on various programs for different formats. Michael on Fire's dynamic range of expression speaks to music fans everywhere who seek passion and authenticity in lyric, music and performance.
