Liam Payne Teases Reality BAFTAs Performance

Liam Payne has something very special up his sleeve for his performance at next weekend's 2021 BAFTA Awards.

The British One Direction star has teased that he'll be serving up a real-time augmented reality experience at the show next Sunday on April 11 before the show goes live.

In a promo clip, Payne said: "Make sure you download The Round app to check out me at the EE Baftas, I'll see you there". He also tweeted: "You've never seen me like this before... Check out my #EEBAFTAs AR performance this Sunday... Coming live to your phone, whether you're at home, in the park, or on the move."

The 74th annual British Academy Film Awards is set to take place in the UK at the Royal Albert Hall on April 10-11 in London. The event celebrates the best national and international films. The top nominees at the show are Golden Globe-winning Nomadland and British movie Rocks. The former is up for best film alongside The FatherThe MauritanianPromising Young Woman and The Trial of the Chicago 7.

Earlier this year in January, FIFA launched an eight-episode podcast series hosted by the global chart-topping star, and co-hosted by sports broadcaster Jaydee Dyer. Speaking about the series at the time, Payne said that he couldn't wait for everyone to hear what he'd been working on with FIFA, adding: "The PlayOn Podcast has been such a journey – it's been awesome having these incredible players and special guests come together and exchange life experiences from both on and off the pitch, all through the lens of music."
