Celebrities love Mexico. American artists have been going to Mexico for several years and have gained a great fan-base in the country. American celebrities are prone to go to Mexico because of the ease of working with the locals. Resort owners and the local community have always shown respect and flexibility. The Mexican audience is so receptive of American culture and celebrities that concerts recorded in Mexico are usually turned into DVDs.

As a film location, a tourist destination, a concert venue or a platform for social justice, Mexico has recently hosted a variety of actors and musicians. U2 musician and global humanitarian Bono met with President Felipe Calderon to discuss drug violence and poverty affecting Mexico. Mexico's president thanked Bono for sending a message to victims of drug violence during his concert on Wednesday. Calderon and Bono also discussed global warming and Mexico's opportunities as the host of the G-20 reunion in 2012. Bono is in Mexico in the final leg of the Irish rock band's 360 Tour.

Musicians are among the country's most popular visitors. Jennifer Lopez recently went to the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Uxmal to film her new music video "I'm into You" featuring Lil' Wayne. Enrique Iglesias is also among the musicians that go to Mexico to film their videos. The video "Tonight (I'm Loving You)" was filmed at the Alegranza Residential Resort, in Los Cabos. Nelly and Kelly Rowland filmed the video "Gone" in Cancun. The shoot contained a number of mentions of the Caribbean resort town, thanks to a rich coverage of the production process.
