Billie Eilish has revealed that she dyed her hair blonde after seeing a picture of herself that had been edited by a fan.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the pop megastar was asked about her new look, and responded: “I’ve been wanting it blonde for a while.

“Then I saw a fan edit when I had green hair. It was me with whatever hair color I had, and they just edited blonde hair on me and I was like: ‘Ah, it’s so sick, I want it!’”

She added: “I thought I would burn it all off if I tried, but I did it.”

Eilish, 19, debuted her blonde look as she announced her second album Happier Than Ever last month, along with brand her new single, “Your Power”. The acclaimed singer-songwriter then appeared as the stunning cover star on the June issue of British Vogue. As well as appearing on the cover, Eilish also opened up in an interview with the magazine about her music, power dynamics, and her internet-breaking transformation (full interview here).

Last week on Tuesday, May 11, Eilish won the International Female Solo Artist award at this year's BRIT Awards in the UK, as well as coveting the Record of the Year award at the 2021 Grammys in March.
