New Wave Dynamics Heats Up the Comedy Charts With "NICK CANNON: MR. SHOWBIZ"

"Mr. Showbiz" is the top selling new comedy release for the week of May 22nd.

BURBANK, Calif., May 26, 2011 -- The comedy album release from multi-faceted performer Nick Cannon, NICK CANNON: MR. SHOWBIZ (New Wave Dynamics) was the top selling title among new comedy releases on the Billboard Comedy Chart for the week ending May 22nd. "Mr. Showbiz" is available on iTunes & Amazon and wherever digital albums are sold. Sales should see another rise when the CD is released in stores on May 31st.

"I'm very proud of the fact that in less than two years New Wave Dynamics has been able to release an album towards the top of the charts that is as hysterical as it is popular," Brian Volk-Weiss, Sr. VP, Head of Production/Management/Dynamics.

Cannon uses his trademark charisma and natural comic timing to reveal his thoughts on his famous marriage to Mariah Carey, becoming a father, and putting an end to his buzzed about Twitter war with hip-hop star Eminem. Revealing his edgy side, he also shares hysterically honest stories about his humble beginnings, family, his 'hood tendencies' and failed attempts at being a gangster.

At the age of 15 Cannon began landing stand-up comedy gigs at world-renowned comedy venues. He became the youngest staff writer in television history at the age of 17. Then came "The Nick Cannon Show," which he starred, directed and executive produced. Some of his film credits include "Drumline," "Men in Black II," "Roll Bounce," and "Bobby." In 2005, MTV debuted "Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out," an improv comedy show that Cannon created, produced and hosted for four consecutive seasons.

Cannon will return as the host of NBC's "America's Got Talent" for a third season on May 31st. He is the host of the #1 morning radio show in New York City tri-state on 92.3 NOW FM and new nationally syndicated weekend Top 40 countdown radio show, "Cannon's Countdown."

New Wave Dynamics, a division of New Wave Entertainment, produces and digitally distributes content throughout the world. The company is currently producing "Cleaning Up" for Investigation Discovery. "Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz" premiered on SHOWTIME 5/14. In the works are more comedy specials with talent such as Tom Green, Josh Blue, and Michael Ian Black. Past productions/releases include "Nick Di Paolo Raw Nerve" for SHOWTIME and "Whitney Cummings: Money Shot" for Comedy Central.
