Hitmaking Super Producer Alex Da Kid Signs With Interscope Records for Launch of His KIDinaKORNER Label

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 1, 2011 -- Grammy winner and multi platinum music producer, Alex Da Kid has created his own label via Interscope Records, it was announced today by Interscope Geffen A&M Records, a unit of Universal Music Group, the global music leader.  Alex's new label, KIDinaKORNER, will debut with a solo album from singer-songwriterSkylar Grey, who has been featured on three other recent Alex Da Kid hit productions: "Coming Home" from Diddy-Dirty Money, "I Need A Doctor" from Dr. Dre featuring Eminem and "Words I Never Said" from Lupe Fiasco.

"Developing artists that influence and shape popular culture in an authentic way has always been a huge goal of mine," said Alex Da Kid.  "Jimmy Iovine understands that and has been a true mentor to me over the past year. I look forward to continuing all the success we have already had together."

London-born Alex Da Kid won a Grammy this year for Best Rap Album for Eminem's Recovery and earned four other nominations--Album of the Year for Recovery and Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Rap Song for "Love The Way You Lie."  In addition, he produced B.o.B.'s nominated "Airplanes and Airplanes Part II" featuring Paramore's Hayley Williams.  

Earlier this month, he was nominated for an extraordinary eight Billboard Awards--Top 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song, Top Streaming Song (Audio), Top Streaming Song (Video) and Top Rap Song for "Love The Way You Lie" (which spent seven consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and sold more than 8 million copies worldwide) plus Top Digital Song and Top Rap Song for "Airplanes" (which peaked at #2 and sold 6 million-plus copies).  In one year Alex has been the musical force behind the sale of over 20 million singles and he was the first producer/songwriter to have his songs reach half a billion views on YouTube. Most recently, he was asked by Bono and The Edge to produce, "RISE ABOVE 1" the first single from the album, Music from SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK.
