Harry Styles Writing New Songs for Fourth Solo Album

Harry Styles is already writing songs for his fourth solo album. The "As It Was" hitmaker only put out his record-breaking third album Harry's House - the follow-up to 2019's Fine Line - in May, but despite this, he's continued to work on new tunes for his next effort. His latest album Harry's House debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart and logged a total of six non-consecutive weeks atop the Official Albums Chart in his homeland of the UK.

During a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine, on which he is the first global cover star (watch clip below), the pop icon opened up about his huge year, two new films, fans' relationship with Olivia Wilde, activism, sexuality, therapy, and much more. Styles also revealed that he is always writing and is excited to get back to it, which feels insane because he's only just put an album out.

Now, besides his music and victory-lap world tour, there are other indicators of Styles' next-level stardom: his skin-care, nail-polish, and clothing line called Pleasing and a fashion collection with Gucci, plus his flourishing movie career. He’s starring in the psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling and in the intimate drama My Policeman. He’s also nabbed a deal with Marvel Studios to play Eros in at least one of the Eternals films.

"Everything in my life has felt like a bonus since X-Factor", he says, referring to the televised singing competition that led directly to One Direction. “Get on TV and sing. I never expected and never thought that would happen." Read the full interview with Rolling Stone here.

The former One Direction star has also just earned his first-ever Mercury Prize nomination for the chart-topping LP. He is shortlisted for the prestigious music prize, making its top Albums of the Year list.

The 28-year-old will compete with the likes of Sam Fender's Seventeen Going Under and Little Simz' Sometimes I Might Be Introvert to be crowned the overall winner of the prize on September 8 in the U.K. at London's Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.

Self Esteem, Joy Crookes, Fergus McCreadie, Gwenno, Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler, Kojey Radical, Nova Twins, Wet Leg, and Yard Act also made the shortlist.

Meanwhile, the "Late Night Talking" singer is said to have turned to golf to unwind while touring. He has been playing the game for years but has been trying to get in as many rounds as possible since touring as a solo star. He has reportedly been checking out as many golf courses as possible as he tours the globe.

During their One Direction days, Styles and his bandmate Niall Horan, also 28, often enjoyed a round of golf together, and Horan also founded the golf management company, Modest! Golf in 2016.
