Award-winning actress Rebecca Ferguson will join the cast of Peaky Blinders, the new Netflix movie, which is slated to begin filming this September. It is not yet known which character the Swedish actress will play.

Peaky Blinders, the hit BBC period crime drama, which starred Oscar winner Cillian Murphy as gangster and businessman Tommy Shelby, wrapped up in 2022 after six seasons. Its creator, Steven Knight, has decided to end the story with a feature-length movie, rather than rolling out another season.

Knight has confirmed that Murphy will return to his lead role. Tom Hardy, who played Camden Town gang leader Alfie Solomons in the series, teased his involvement in the film. The full cast for the forthcoming movie has not yet been announced.

Tom Harper will be the director. Producers are Caryn Mandabach, Steven Knight, Cillian Murphy, and Guy Heeley. Executive producers include Tom Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason. 

The Netflix film will be made in association with BBC Film.
