Foo Fighters stream historic Reading Festival gig online

Foo Fighters have revealed that they are streaming their famous Reading Festival performance from 1995 online.

The show, which saw the band headline the Melody Maker Stage on the Saturday night (August 26) alongside Main Stage headliner Björk, has been made available on the band’s website as an interactive cassette tape at Reading.foofighters.com.

This performance was one of the band’s earliest live shows and their debut at the UK festival, which took place only one month after the release of their self titled debut album in July that year, with their very first show taking place in California just a few months earlier in February of the same year.

In December 2011, Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl confirmed that the band would be heading into the studio to record a new album this year. The band released their seventh studio album, 'Wasting Light', in April 2011.

The line-up for this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals will be announced live at 7.15pm (BST) on Monday night (March 12) with the festivals taking place on August 24 – 26. Last year’s headliners included Muse, The StrokesPulp and My Chemical Romance.
