Church says songwriting is better now

Charlotte Church has revealed that her songwriting has improved since she released her last album 'Tissues and Issues'.

The Welsh singer and beauty recently secured a comeback deal with Power Amp Music which will see her releasing new material for the first time in four years.

Speaking to The Guardian about her return to the music scene, Church explained: "I've been songwriting a lot recently, because I had stuff to say and because there's a little part of me that wants to be a poet, but also because nobody really writes songs for my range."

On whether fans will notice a change from her previous material, she replied: "Oh completely. When I listen back to… er my… well, 'Tissues and Issues', that was kind of my first try at writing, and I think ahhh! So little! And I might think that of this album in 10 years' time. But I don't think so. I think it's a hell of a lot better."

Church's new album is due to be released towards the end of the year. She is currently concentrating on her commitments as a judge on BBC talent show Over The Rainbow.
