Dido has denied making negative remarks about Rihanna, stating that she was misquoted by a German publication.

It was reported that Dido said she didn't understand how Rihanna found the time to write music as she releases so many albums.

The German magazine, Focus, printed that Dido said: 'Rihanna seems to release a new album weekly. Unbelievable!

'When does she have time to write her songs? I could never release music that means nothing to me.'

Dido then took to Twitter to put the record straight, tweeting: "Obviously i didn't say that about rihanna!! i'm a big fan of hers! ridiculous. totally misquoted."

"It's so disappointing when the odd journalist still tries to pit female artists against each other. I love @rihanna. x"
