Madonna is planning to take a trip to Africa so that her adopted daughter Mercy can see her birth parents.

The Queen of Pop adopted the four-year-old from an orphanage in Malawi last year and according to reports, will take the youngster back there next week as she allegedly views it as vital that they understand their roots.

Mercy's meeting with her family is expected to be particularly emotional as it's the first time she's seen them since last summer.

It's also been reported that Madonna has given her other daughter Lourdes a part in 'W.E.' - the new movie she is shortly set to direct about the late British monarch King Edward VIII’s decision to abdicate the throne for his American lover Wallis Simpson.
