Sting and Legend to star in 'Earth Day' rally

Sting and John Legend are to co-headline a climate rally to mark 'Earth Day 2010' at The National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The duo will join The Roots, Bob Weir, Patrick Stump, Mavis Staples and Booker T, among others, for the musical protest later this month on April 25.

Non-musicians will include Sting's actress wife Trudie Styler, filmmaker James Cameron and civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson.

The rally will coincide with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and those taking part hope to persuade members of Congress to pass an effective and equitable climate and clean energy bill.
