Paul Weller's improvised lyrics on new LP

Paul Weller has revealed that he improvised some lyrics on the spot during the recording of his upcoming album.

The former The Jam frontman, who's new album titled 'Wake Up The Nation' is out later this month, admits that he was forced to improvise in the studio because he hadn't finished the tracks. He told 6 Music, "I didn't really sit down with a guitar and try to work them out or write beforehand. I would just spend a week or two weeks listening to them. So instead of going in with a batch of lyrics, I didn't have anything at all. When it got round to me doing the vocal, I'd just sit there and (sing) the first thing that would come into my head, really. Weller added, "It's nice after all these years to think there's still a method of working which you haven't done before."

Paul Weller releases his tenth studio album, 'Wake Up The Nation', on April 19.
