Kim Deal's replacement on bass, Kim Shattuck, has revealed that she has been fired by The Pixies.

The bass player joined the band this summer after Deal left the band. The Muff's frontwoman posted the news on both Facebook and Twitter. She wrote:

"Disappointed to learn that my time w/Pixies ended today. Amazing experience. Focusing attn on Muffs & new album. All the best to everyone."

Deal left the bank in October 2012 although the announcement wasn't made until June 2013. 

The Field Day festival in London has announced that Pixies will be a headline act at the two-day event. The band will take to the stage on June 8 2014.
