Mitch Winehouse to release new album to raise money for Amy Winehouse charity

Mitch Winehouse has revealed that he will release a new album to raise funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

His daughter passed away in 2011 aged 27 as the result of alcohol poisoning.

Jazz singer Mitch released his debut album that year, but he has confirmed plans to unleash the new record 'But Beautiful' on September 29.

The BBC quotes Winehouse as saying that the record will feature tracks that were chosen by his daughter.

He said: "This is still the album that Amy helped me make. There were so many more songs that we could have done and here they are."

Winehouse added: "It's just great to be able to get out and sing, it's something I love to do. I feel that when I'm on stage, Amy's on stage. She wouldn't let a little thing like not being here stop her from jumping on stage."

The Amy Winehouse Foundation meanwhile runs drug and alcohol support and education services.
