'Easy Ways To Be Happy' is the new EP by the sardonically witty songwriter Chris Tavener. It holds a mirror up to a society hell-bent on attaining an extraordinary life, with jangly-guitar rock and country inspired songs that dip into electronic pop to mock the digital revolution.

Tavener built a reputation on his unique musical style which has seen him appearing on stage alongside Peter Hook, Tony Hadley and Ed Tudor Pole, while writing songs for household names like Sir Ian McKellen. His songs have appeared on BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing, with praise coming from Carl Barat, Mark Radcliffe and Steve Lamacq.

He begin writing this new EP in late 2020, when time away from the live stage offered him a whole new perspective on his musical craft. As an artist that is ever-inspired by the foibles of unique characters, he wrote about seedy celebrities, dishonest life coaches and retail therapy while touching on common insecurities about life and love.

The follow up to his 2018 live album 'Is He Joking?': 'Easy Ways To Be Happy' is a more mature and emotive record. He uses his dry humour and acerbic wit to create beautifully melodic songs on tragic topics that leave you feeling almost guilty to sing along...

With moments of raw honesty and emotion, the often-distant satirical songwriter also delivers some rare sincerity.
