Following on from the resounding success of their debut single, ‘Confusion’, freshly-formed Alt Electronica duo, Anaté, unleashed their meditatively ensnaring single ‘First Time’ on January 13th, 2021.

Dreamy downtempo layers of catharsis are cut with Reggae staccato rhythms in the instrumentally flawless dark twist on 90s Pop which unravels with a touch of celestial timbre through the addition of reverb-drenched classical strings.

With all of the propensities of a perennial pop earworm alongside Anaté’s discernibly constraint-less creative approach to production, First Time proves that mainstream appeal and uninhibited expression don’t have to be mutually exclusive. The imploringly direct vocals pull you in while the progressive instrumentals wrap up your pulses in the rhythmic alchemy deftly laid down by the luminary duo.

About the artist
When producer, Andrea, set out to find the perfect voice for a Trip-Hop influenced album, she found Ana, once their influences combined, their collaborative sound became a smorgasbord of stylistic elements including Downtempo, Pop, Indie Rock and Alt Hip Hop. Yet, the real distinction in their sound lies within the conceptually confessional nature of their lyricism which interlaces with atmospheric melodies; reminiscent to those offered by Massive Attack, Morcheeba and Hooverphonic.

‘First Time’ is the second single to be released from Anaté’s debut 10-track album ‘Confessions’ which will be released gradually throughout 2021.

When live stages are safe to grace, they’re prepared to take over those too with their unique sound which layers pop melodies with acoustic instruments and electronic effects to achieve a retro feel with a modernistic finish.
