Nightbird Casino has shown us a night on ‘The Town’ with their new experimental art-rock singleOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY A&R Factory Nightbird Casino’s latest single, ‘The Town’, is an experimental exploration of art-rock, grunge, jazz and garage rock, psych, electronica, classical and any element which could contribute to the existential, accordant chaos. With tender melodies comparable to the ones found in hazier tracks by Mr Bungle around fervent organ wails and consistently cascading notes, The Town can easily lead you down the aural rabbit hole. The Oakland, CA-residing duo find synergy both instrumentally and vocally as they easily reach for vocal harmonies and pour plenty of soul into the mix in the process. The Town featured James Moore (vocals, bass, ondes martenot, production), Don Shepherd (vocals, guitars, piano, organ, drums) and session-musician Nicolas Ocampo (clarinets, flute, saxophone, oboe, bassoon). Nightbird Casino said: Amelia Vandergast at A&R Factory said: AboutNightbird Casino formed in 2017 in Los Angeles, CA, after founding members James Moore and Don Shepherd left their former band, I Lit a Fire and started to explore the more obscure with their sound. Six months later, their debut four-track EP, ‘Everything Has Happened Before’ hit the airwaves. After a two-year involuntary hiatus, they started on a new demo and were inspired to revive Nightbird Casino. Soon after, the pandemic hit, and the duo quarantined in James’ home studio in Oregon, where they created their debut LP, ‘Georgian Nap’, in October 2020. The Town is just one of the recent single releases from Nightbird Casino that precede the release of their sophomore album, Russian Carpet, due this summer.
