With eight albums, multiple singles and EPs under his alt-hip hop belt, rapper, songwriter, indie label owner, and producer Walker Deuce is proving to be a force to be reckoned with after his relocation from Boise, Idaho to Portland, Oregon. His seminal melodic EP featuring the standout vibe out single, Chill (https://amzn.to/304QAfm), stands a testament to his ability to turn visceral emotion into luxe urban catharsis.

Chill starts with the downtempo grooves that throw back to the golden era of hip hop before the ambiently short and sweet track introduces Walker Deuce’s experimentalism. His calm and collected candour accentuates the dreamy textures in the uniquely meditative single; that will be a hit with Mac Miller, Mac Dre and Snoop Dogg fans.

Walker Deuce said:

“At the time of my EP release in 2020, I was in a state of crisis. My inspiration grew from overcoming past mistakes, mainly false rumours in my small college town, where I moved after doing door to door sales.

“I was famous in a bad way; people knew my name and constantly tried to fight me because of my money and freestyle rap ability. Walker Deuce is a catchphrase for leaving somewhere to get out of trouble. My message is to have faith in a higher power and your innate ability to overcome struggle thrust upon you; everyone gets theirs eventually.”

Amelia Vandergast at A&R Factory said:

“With his fluid canter and the equally as mellifluous beats, Chill does what it says on the tin. The evocative lyrics paint more vividly than Picasso as Walker Deuce’s sense of faithful soul will inspire you to find your own.”

Walker Deuce is a Portland, Oregon-based alt-hip hop artist; he started in the freestyle rap scene in 2010 before learning how to make beats in collaboration with producers in 2018.

After moving out of his small hometown, where he was hounded with false accusations, Walker Deuce has steadily gained traction with his sound with features on popular playlists and multiple shows performed. After being prolific since his debut, he’s showing no sign of slowing down; his upcoming EP and album are due for release in November 2021.
