The Philadelphia RnB artist FEAT has been keeping it raw and resonant since the debut of his 2020 album, For the Lovers Mixtape. In his latest single, This Time, which was officially released on March 31st, he unequivocally established himself as an indie RnB artist to watch with his modern decadent sonic touch and façade-less vocal soul.

This Time explores the dynamics of toxic relationships that have the tendency to reel you back in and force you to lose more of yourself before you finally find the strength to cut the ties.

The shimmering artful indie guitars and the minimalist downtempo beats create an intoxicating juxtaposition in the soundscape that is a testament to the artist’s mastery of spatial effect.

FEAT said:

“This Time was written during a breakup. After numerous attempts to make the relationship work, I was left with disappointment and dissatisfaction and hurt. This song became a way to relieve the undesirable emotions; it was time for me to realize my potential, what I am capable of, and to disconnect from a love that was so very tragic.”

Amelia Vandergast, Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“RnB doesn’t get much more curatively cathartic than This Time. After FEAT has lyrically put his heart on his sleeve, there is plenty of space in the soundscape to reflect on the affectionate and emboldening constructs explored.”
