The Primary Shakespeare Company engages, inspires and empowers primary school children in the UK who come from disadvantaged backgrounds using the power of drama. They send professional theatre practitioners into primary schools, working with teachers, to deliver truly inspiring lessons using a Shakespeare Play. The children then come together with other schools in their area to create a festival during which the play is re-assembled, with each school performing their own part of the whole play. The charity aims to bridge the gap in attainment by empowering children through the magic of drama and its high profile patrons include Olivier award-winning actor and Broadway star Billie Piper, Golden Globe nominee and Downton Abbey legend Hugh Bonneville, Baroness Estelle Morris, Eric Bolton and Adrian Lester. In 2018, Apostrophe Talent ran the charity's most successful fundraising and publicity campaigns, raking in a staggering £45,000 in just 20 days.
