Arcade Fire to headline Glastonbury

Arcade Fire have been announced as one of this year's Glastonbury Festival headliners.

The Canadian band will play the iconic Worthy Farm shindig on June 27.

They follow the previously announced Lily Allen onto the bill, who let slip earlier this year that she will be playing.

Arcade Fire singer Win Butler meanwhile said: "It's such a communal rite of passage in the UK. Just on a musical level, we're super-excited to strap on our wellies and let it rip."

The group topped the UK albums chart in November with their latest effort 'Reflektor'.

They're the first headliner to be announced for Glastonbury, however, with the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Prince also rumoured to be playing.
