Arctic Monkeys experience ticket demand increase following BRITs

'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' rockers Arctic Monkeys raised eyebrows earlier this week at the BRIT Awards by addressing the resurgence of 'rock and roll' in modern pop culture, but it has now been revealed that there has been a surge of online searches for Arctic Monkeys tickets.

Interest in tickets for the band's live shows increased by 195% in the hours following the 2014 BRIT Awards, which was more than any other artist at the ceremony, and a spokesperson for online ticket retailer Viagogo explained that the band's bold speech at the BRITs definitely didn't deter fans:

"While Alex Turner appears to have taken a bit of stick across social media for his rock star posturing on the night, it clearly hasn’t dented demand for Arctic Monkeys tickets."

"For demand for the band’s gigs to be almost twice that of global super star Beyoncé and nearly four times that of Bruno Mars shows that a strong live performance combined with a touch of traditional BRITs controversy is the formula for success."

Other acts that saw a surge in ticket searches include Beyoncé and Katy Perry, and also One Direction with a 74% increase.
