Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner: 'I'm not in a hurry to do a new album'

'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?' rockers Arctic Monkeys have revealed they're in no hurry to put out a new album because there are other things going on that they're excited to give attention to.

The band's frontman told the NME that although he has done some songwriting, there is no rush to finish a new album and the process will just unfold in its own time:

"I've written a few things, but I'm not in a hurry. We're going to keep going [with touring] until the summer and beyond that a little bit, maybe. I don't know. I wouldn't think it'll be too soon that we do the next one."

When asked why the band is taking so long to work on this new offering, Turner admitted that they've had a lot of success in the U.S. so they've been keeping their focus on their career stateside:

"It's been going really well in America and there's still lots of s**t still to do on this album. I don't feel, for once, that we need to rush and get on to the next thing. It seems like a good place to leave it for a minute."
