Arctic Monkeys head for No.1 with 'AM'

Rockers Arctic Monkeys are set to score a UK No.1 this week with their brand new album 'AM' and it's also set to overtake Daft Punk's record of having the fastest-selling record of 2013.

The band have shifted over 97,000 copies of 'AM' so far and if sales continue at the same pace they are likely to take the impressive title from the French robot duo, who earned it after selling 165,000 copies of 'Random Access Memories' in the first week of its release.

London Grammar's debut album, 'If You Wait', has entered the UK Top 40 at No.2 this afternoon on the midweek update (September 11), Goldfrapp's 'Tales Of Us' made an appearance at No.3, and there's another new entry at 5 from The Strypes with 'Snapshot'.

Janelle Monae's 'The Electric Lady' has charted at No.9, Madonna's new live album 'MDNA World Tour' entered at No.37, and Rod Stewart's 'Rarities' is at 15.
