MUSICIAN, DJ, producer and composer Arctisky is proud to be releasing his debut track ‘Losing My Control’ on 29th April, bringing a fresh, unique, and exciting energy to the Electro-Pop & E.D.M genre and set to firmly place the Maldives born artist on the map.

‘Losing My Control’ is a collaboration between Arctisky (Zul Arif) and vocalist ‘Gloria’. The track is heavily E.D.M influenced, featuring elements of electro-pop/dance combined with a retro disco and soul vibe. With its smooth, soulful vocals and hypnotic, punchy, and uplifting beats, ‘Losing My Control’ is a feel-good song that completely captures the essence of summer, whilst sure to remain a playlist favorite long beyond.

What sets Arctisky apart from other artists in the Pop & E.D.M genre? Music has always been in his DNA and he is an example of an artist who has immersed himself fully into the intricacies of what makes an incredible track stand out from a great one. It was from the age of 6 that music featured as a priority and passion in his life. Growing up on the small island of the Maldives, he began his journey into the music scene as a drummer in 2007.

Between 2007 and 2009, Zul was crafting his talent and performing all around the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and the UK. Expanding into experimenting with other instruments including the guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals, Arctisky dedicated his time solely to his music; helping him to continue developing his talent and hone his craft even further.

It was in 2016 after delving into the Electronic Dance Music scene that Arctisky really established his direction and what began to elevate him to the next level. Since moving to Melbourne in 2019 for his Bachelors in Music Composition and Production at the Australian Institute of Music, Arctisky has worked hard to finesse his sound, build his audience, and is set to become a major player in the industry, having developed a unique sound that intelligently infuses elements of funk, jazz, soul and R&B.

It was at the Australian Institute of Music that Arctisky met New York vocalist ‘Gloria’ and knew her powerful, sassy vocals perfectly complicated the track with its strong hints of those significant E.D.M sub-genres such as Deep House, Tropical House, Slap House, and Trance.

‘Losing My Control’ is Arctisky’s debut single and will be released on 29th April.

For Arctisky, the essence of music is so much more than sound. He comments:

“This is a project I started, hoping to bring people of all cultures and backgrounds together through music! Of course, this is just the beginning and I have a lot lined up!”

Arctisky is a talent to watch, bringing an ever-evolving fresh, and original sound to the Electro-Pop genre.

‘Losing My Control’ will be released on the 29th April on all the platforms.
