Avril Lavigne has reaffirmed her love for her fans after coming under fire for her meet and greet tickets.

Talk of the Canadian's backstage tickets spread across the internet over the weekend because of their price and Lavigne's apparent hands-off nature.

Tickets for a meet and greet in Brazil cost about £215 and in many photos from the sessions, the singer appeared sullen as she keep her distance from her fans.

However, she took to Twitter to reply to a tweet which included a photo of a happier looking Lavigne with fans along with the text:

"Avril is the most caring idol in the world. She loves her fans, obviously!"

The 'Hello Kitty' star then responded: "I sure do love them!!!!"

Next up for Lavigne on her South American tour meanwhile is a show in Argentina on May 7.
