Avril Lavigne on film aspirations: 'I have a couple of things lining up'

Songstress Avril Lavigne has teased that she might have some movie projects up her sleeve during a new interview with Billboard magazine.

The 'What The Hell' superstar, who recently revealed her struggle with Lyme disease, told the publication that she has big ambitions for the future and hopes to move into the film industry: "I really want to work on a film. I've got a couple things lining up right now, so of course I can't say [which film]. I'm figuring out a couple things."

Lavigne is also going to release a new song called 'Fly' on April 16, which she wrote two years ago for the Avril Lavigne Foundation, and all proceeds from sales of the single will be given to the Special Olympics. In addition to this, she will also shoot a music video starring Special Olympics athletes along with herself.

Speaking about 'Fly', she explained: "The song is really inspirational and means a lot to me -- and with the Special Olympics, it's a natural fit. Originally I went for a more pop production, and then I scrapped it. I wanted it to be more stripped-down, and let the vocal be the lead part of the song."
