Avril Lavigne is 'proud and honoured' to have performed at the Special Olympics

On July 25, Canadian sensation Avril Lavigne made her live return to the stage with an amazing performance of her uplifting song 'Fly', which was written especially for the Special Olympics.

She has now revealed that she was "honoured" to have been involved in the opening ceremony and uploaded a video of herself talking about the performance to her official Instagram account. She accompanied the footage with the following caption: "Opening Ceremony was amazing! So proud & honoured to be part of it! Get #Fly on iTunes to support @SpecialOlympics."

In the short video, Lavigne can be heard saying: "I just finished my performance at the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics and I just performed 'Fly' for the first time... and I performed basically for the first time in a year. Feeling very proud and very honoured."
