Canadian superstar Avril Lavigne is set to take her Head Above Water Tour to a series of European cities, starting with Switzerland on March 13 this year, before heading to the UK, Japan, China and South East Asia, where she'll perform her final show in Hong Kong on May 24.

The tour was announced last year on June 24, and is in support of Lavigne's Head Above Water album which documents her battle with Lyme Disease after she fell ill with it in 2014. A portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold will be donated to The Avril Lavigne Foundation in order to raise awareness and fund treatment for those in need.

As reported previously, it's the first time the highly acclaimed singer-songwriter has performed abroad since 2011's The Black Star Tour following her long battle with the illness.

Lavigne has sold close to 30 million albums worldwide.
