Avril Lavigne recently did a live and stripped back set for Walmart Soundcheck where she performed a variety of tracks and spoke about her career. 

She sang 'What The Hell', 'I'm With You' and 'Girlfriend', and also opened up about the process of creating her forthcoming new album, 'Goodbye Lullaby:

"This album for me, I've grown a lot on. My whole approach was different, I kind of just started off with an acoustic guitar, I would sing to it."

"I wanted the vocal to be the main instrument."

The 'Sk8er Boi' star also added:

"The theme is about finding innner strenght and moving forward, and just living and learning. It's bitter sweet, there's a blend of happy and sad emotions. It's a really special record."
