Avril Lavigne reveals her design inspiration at New York Fashion WeekFeisty pop-rocker Avril Lavigne debuted the latest designs from her skater-punk fashion line Abby Dawn yesterday (September 10). The singer and designer put on a runway show during the world-famous New York Fashion Week and explained to Billboard.com that her inspirations included names from the music world such as "Joan Jett, David Bowie and the Sex Pistols, to name a few." She also single-handedly selected the music for her show, which included her own track 'Sk8er Boi', and added that it was important to create a mood that went with the visual aspect of the event and look of the outfits: "I picked all the up-tempo fun songs of mine for this show. I wanted people to have fun and be able to rock out at the show." She also explained how her fashion sense has inspired her search for the perfect wedding dress: "I have an idea of what I want. It might be something that I buy a few different dresses and rip them up and put them all together and dye them, or maybe I'll kind of do a collaboration with another designer."
