Avril Lavigne launches summer program to send disabled children to summer camp

'Here's To Never Growing Up' pop-rocker Avril Lavigne has founded a summer program called S.T.A.R.S. that will help raise money to then send children with disabilities to camp.

Writing on her website this evening (June 24), the hitmaker explained that this is a new step with her Avril Lavigne Foundation and she felt inspired after visiting "Easter Seals Camp Oakes in Big Bear" and noticing how money was one of the factors threatening the kids' return to the camps each summer recently:

"Summer TimeAvril Rock Stars. Thanks to your support, we are going to help send 50 kids with disabilities to camp this summer who otherwise might not be able to afford it! Our CAMP S.T.A.R.S. will head to camp at 5 sites across the U.S. and Canada."

The beauty also shared a link to a page where her 11.2 million followers can find out more about the initiative.
