'Sk8er Boi' hitmaker Avril Lavigne has opened up about her love of Hello Kitty and admitted that she's glad her new husband, Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, is so accepting because she has filled rooms of their house with related memorabilia. 

She recently sat down for an interview with America's Katie Couric (pictured below) and confessed that her obsession with the cute Japanese toy and brand has started to take over her home:

"Chad has been so kind because... one room turned into two rooms and now I'm working on a third, literally I have three Hello Kitty rooms and I just turned the office into pink everywhere..."

Lavigne recently told People magazine how she plans to make her marriage to the rocker last: "We don't spend more than two weeks apart ... Chad's been really supportive and coming out with me [on tour], which is awesome. I've never really had that before, and it makes it better.”

She added: "When you have something special, you can't take it for granted and be careless with it ... We want to give it all the care and love and nurturing that we can."
