After the massively successful launch of Pongathon on October 24th Pongathon has, without doubt, captured the imagination of the capitals’ passionate social ping pong players. From after work challenges and corporate parties everyone is spinning at the Pongathon’s! Such has been the demand for Pongathon that more tables and another night has been added, meaning from February 7th ‘Pongathon Tuesdays’ will be at Richmix every other week.

Once again Pongathon will be bringing you wall-to wall ping pong action set against a backdrop of live visual art from Coco and hip swiveling ‘chunes’ to pong to from resident DJ’s Alex Gromadzki and Ronnie Joice. Our Pongathon pros will be on hand to provide tips and tricks and entertain the crowds with some exhibition play and of course no Pongathon is complete without Beat-The-Pongbot, our own ping pong robot that takes on all comers! Loads of free to enter competitions will include; the world’s smallest mini- bat tournament, mini table doubles and singles and round-the-table with loads of prizes and cool merch for the winners.

What to expect next year? Well Pongathon will be popping up all over the city for one and two day Pongathon’s in the most unusual of places, introducing some really cool social tournaments to enter in advance with some huge prizes to be won (more about that coming soon) and we going on the road for our first Pongathon Tour in spring 2012 and of course making our first rock n roll Pongumentary!
