Hudson Taylor announce release of their first EP 'Battles'

Dublin's Hudson Taylor are pleased to announce the release of their first EP 'Battles' on the 27th August 2012.

Brothers Harry and Alfie are Hudson Taylor; together they make the kind of music that we must describe as nu-folk, but which boasts the vivacity, and immediacy, of the very best pop. Title track 'Battles' blends violins and pianos into an infectious buzz with vocals that soar and swoop like Damien Rice in a rare good mood.

The 'Battle's EP is a formidable calling card, four songs full of keening melody and bustling energy that is as infectious as it is memorable, evoking comparisons to Paulo Nurini, Bon Iver and Bright Eyes.

Tracklisting:

Battles

Drop of Smoke'

Biography

Hudson Taylor have grown up, like many emergent artists today, on YouTube. You can find an album's worth of original songs on there - songs of deceptive simplicity but endless winning charm - as well as highly imaginative cover versions of tracks by Coldplay, Paolo Nutini and Bon Iver.

Disarmingly young, and such fine songwriters already you'd expect they were onto their third album rather than approaching their first, Hudson Taylor might just be the freshest, and certainly the best, new act of 2012. It is difficult to listen to them, and not come away instantly affected by them - the songs themselves, but also their charm, their guile - with a huge smile on your face. Two million people have already done just that, and the numbers are steadily rising.
