'Beyoncé' outsells '4' in just four weeks

Vocal sensation Beyoncé has managed an impressive feat with the release of her self-titled new album.

Nielsen Soundscan has confirmed that 'Beyoncé', which is a visual concept album that includes a music video for every song on the tracklisting, has managed to outsell her previous record, entitled '4', in just 4 weeks. In the week ending January 5, 2014, the 'Halo' beauty sold 130,000 copies, which brings its total sales sum up to 1.43 million.

Total sales figures for '4' come out at 1.39 million, which means that in just one month her new album has completely outsold this prior offering.

Meanwhile, 'Beyoncé' was illegally downloaded an overwhelming 240,000 times in its first week of release. It also passed the all-important 1 million sales mark very shortly after it dropped on iTunes.
