Wimbledon 2016: Beyoncé and Jay Z cheer on Serena Williams to win 22nd Grand Slam

Beyoncé and husband Jay Z were in London again today, after the superstar performed only last week in the capital during her Formation tour.

The couple sat looking relaxed and cheerful in the player's box at Wimbledon, alongside Serena Williams' family, in a show of support for Williams during her Wimbledon championship final against the German tennis player, Angelique Kerber.

Pal Serena starred earlier this year in Beyoncé's video for her hit song 'Sorry' from her latest album, 'Lemonade'.

As Beyoncé looked on proudly, Serena Williams won Saturday's game 7-5 6-3, making it her seventh Wimbledon win and 22-time Grand Slam.

The ladies' singles final this afternoon was filled with a star studded crowd, including Natalie Portman, Maisie Williams and Ellen DeGeneres.

DeGeneres tweeted after the game: "Congratulations, @SerenaWilliams! This tweet is just in case you couldn't hear me scream it from the stands. #Wimbledon"

To which Williams replied: "Loved seeing you! You were loud and I loved it!!"

Serena Williams also uploaded a photo onto her Instagram (see above) following her victory with the caption:
