Beyoncé's exciting revelation at Sunday's MTV VMAs took Twitter's traffic to another level and broke an impressive record. 

During the ceremony, the 29-year-old 'Halo' hitmaker unveiled a small but prominent baby bump at the end of her live performance (August 28) and it prompted a phenomenal response on the social networking site. 

Twitter's global PR account explained that the public unveiling of her pregnancy caused an incredible "8,868 Tweets per second".
