Beyoncé "overwhelmed" by world's most beautiful woman title

Beyoncé has opened up about being named the most beautiful woman in the world by People magazine and described the honour as "overwhelming".

The vocal sensation, who recently gave birth to baby Blue Ivy, gave an exclusive interview to People during her photoshoot for the magazine's cover and explained that as a new mother she is so flattered to receive the accolade:

"Being named the world's most beautiful woman is really hard to say. It's overwhelming. It makes me feel very crunchy and that means embarrassed."

Although she recently admitted that pregnancy caused her to question her appearance because of the weight gain and physical changes it brought about, Beyoncé added that her mother's beauty inspires her and she hopes to follow in the same footsteps:

"My mother is absolutely the most beautiful woman in the world and I've had an incredible example. I know that women are like fine wine in that we get better with age and she's such a glamorous, sophisticated, gentle, beautiful woman."
