Beyonce has described rumours that she had her baby using a surrogate as ‘crazy.’

The 30-year-old, who gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter in January, became the subject of constant online speculation after her appearance on Channel 7’s Sunday Night appeared to show her baby bump being squashed as she sat down.

However, the ‘Single Ladies’ star told People Magazine that she didn’t let the gossip affect her: “That was crazy. It wasn't hurtful, it was just crazy. I thought 'Where did they come up with this?'"

But Beyonce’s mother, Tina, who explained that the incident in question was down to the fabric and not a prosthetic bump, admitted that she was upset by the controversy:

"I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months.

"As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous."
