Beyoncé: "I guess I'm a modern-day feminist"

Beyoncé has opened up on her beliefs, calling herself a "modern-day feminist" - but she doesn't agree with labelling everything.

The singer was being interviewed in the new issue of the British Vogue, with Beyoncé naturally gracing the cover in a new shoot.

When asked if she regards herself as a feminist, the 'Single Ladies' star said:

"That word can be very extreme...But I guess I am a modern-day feminist. I do believe in equality. Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I'm just a woman and I love being a woman."

She continued: "'I do believe in equality and that we have a way to go and it's something that's pushed aside and something that we have been conditioned to accept. But I'm happily married. I love my husband."

Beyoncé meanwhile is due to headline a massive outdoor charity concert this summer at London's Twickenham Stadium to raise awareness of women's rights and issues.
