Beyoncé's 'Sound For Change' concert to be seen by 1 billion people

Earlier this month it was announced that Beyoncé's forthcoming 'Sound For Change' concert will be broadcast live on BBC1 and it has now been revealed that the event will be shown around the globe.

The concert, which will be held at the Twickenham Stadium on June 1, will also be broadcast across six continents to over 150 countries with an estimated audience of 1 billion people.

It is promoting the 'Chime For Change' organisation, which is Gucci's new global campaign for girls' and women's empowerment, and there are a number of other artists performing at the show including Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine and Jennifer Lopez.

Madonna will host the extravaganza and speaking recently about 'Chime For Change', she said: "60 percent of the children in the world NOT in school are girls! 2/3 of the world's illiterate are WOMEN! I do NOT accept this. We need to change this and we WILL CHANGE THIS!"

Beyoncé, co-founder and artistic director of Chime For Change, added: "I am really happy that so many amazing artists and presenters have come together to support Chime For Change on June 1. Our goal is to have a great time together while we unite and strengthen the voices of girls and women around the world."
