Global sensation Beyoncé is set to release a brand new fragrance in the new year called 'Rise'. 

She will unveil the orchid-based perfume in February 2014 and confessed that she hopes it will be empowering to women: "The spirit of RISE encourages women to be all that we are."

Vice President of Global Marketing at Coty Beauty, Marsha Brooks, told Women's Wear Daily: "The fragrance concept is a about female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful. She has done a lot of fruity florals. She's done gourmands."

She added that 'Rise' will be significantly different to the superstar's previous scent: "Pulse was this electric citrus-y floral. This is sexy and sophisticated. We tested it in multiple countries with excellent results."

Meanwhile, Beyoncé's new self-titled visual concept album recently passed the 1 million sales mark and the record's success helped her to achieve an exciting U.S. chart record, as she has now become the first woman to see her first five albums debut at No.1 in the USA.
