Biffy Clyro writing new album

Biffy Clyro have begun writing what will be their sixth studio album, member Simon Neil has confirmed.

Speaking to BBC Six Music, Neil explained how their time off before the U.S tour, which they are currently on, was very productive:

"I love writing songs at home, so we've got about 15 or 16 songs that we did over new year,"

"As soon as we get off the road we'll get the album done."

Despite the fact that they already have five full length records under their proverbial belts, Biffy Clyro only became widely known last year after X Factor winner Matt Cardle covered their track, 'Many Of Horror'. Talking about their popularity, Neil said that they won't reinvent their sound but will instead just progress with it:

"We're always going to be a rock band, it's always going to be heavy, but hopefully [we'll] just bring different elements. It's always going to sound like Biffy. It's not going to be a reggae record, put it that way."
